Dr. Christian Andres Meraz Real brings a uniquely multidisciplinary perspective to patient care. His healthcare career began in nursing, where he spent several years working in clinical settings in San Diego before pursuing his medical degree at Universidad Xochicalco in Tijuana. This combined background provides him with a comprehensive understanding of patient care from both the bedside and physician perspectives.

As Director of the Lyme Disease & Complex Chronic Illness Program at the Immunotherapy Institute, Dr. Meraz leads the clinical development and implementation of treatment protocols for patients facing chronic Lyme disease, co-infections, immune dysregulation, and other complex chronic health conditions.

He works closely with patients throughout their treatment journey, overseeing clinical monitoring, treatment coordination, supportive care strategies, and patient education. His approach emphasizes individualized care, careful assessment of each patient’s unique circumstances, and continuity throughout every phase of treatment.

Dr. Meraz earned his medical degree in 2017 and began practicing functional medicine in 2018 at Hospital Ángeles Tijuana. Since then, he has worked extensively with international patients seeking comprehensive approaches to chronic illness and immune-related conditions.

His experience in functional medicine, combined with his nursing foundation, allows him to bridge advanced therapeutic interventions with the practical realities patients face during recovery.
